I have paid health insurance and cant afford to add a kid, Can my baby have its own private insurance?
My employer pays for my health insurance and its really expensive to add a child because its great insurance. I need to just insure my baby once its born on its own policy. Can the baby have its own policy being the only insured?
Yes, it's often cheaper to buy the child a seperate policy rather than get the family plan. the charges for the family plan assume that you have more than 2 dependents. That's why it is so expensive.
No. Thanks to the Health Reform Act, insurance companies no longer sell "child only" health insurance policies.

The above answerers haven't tried to buy a child only policy, since 09/23/2010, by their answers. That's when insurance companies stopped selling them.
yes you can, but you might be surprised to find it is equally as expensive. the insurance company knows they are going to be paying for well-visits in addition to sick-child visits. private insurance costs much more than a group policy where the employer is paying part of the cost.

What is Raynaulds disease how can I get rid of it without a dr visit?
Recently, I had some syptoms which I listed in a medical help place where they proceeded to tell me it sounded like i had Raynaulds disease. (my hands turn blue in the shower.) First of all, no one listened to me. The material i read said u have to be exposed to cold, i never take cold showers, and i live where its like only 10 degrees in winter. it only occurs in the shower. Anyway, is there any way i can fix it or whatever it is at home, I don't have any money or insurance to go to a dr. Does the sympthoms include severe cold feelings, as in low body temp?
You really have to see a doctor for a diagnosis like that.
There should be free medical service available somewhere nearby.
Good luck!!!

Is there any health insurance in the state of Minnesota that covers infertility?
Curious on if I can get insurance thru a different state if I don't live in that state?
Most insurance plans won't cover infertility unless compelled by law. Fifteen states have a mandate requiring infertility coverage in some form, and for certain employer groups. Minnesota is not one of those states.

Your best bet for finding coverage is finding a new job with an out of state employer headquartered in one of the mandate states. State insurance laws apply in the "In Situs" state (where the employer is headquartered), and not where the policy holder lives.
i have no idea, BUT my doctor just suggested that i have ovarian drilling performed which he said most insurances cover it because it isn't really considered and infertility treatment as much as a medical procedure. it is for people with pcos. do you know if you have pcos? if so it is supposed to have an 80% success rate in getting people to ovulate.
You had best ask yourself whether covering is what you really are interested in by infertility

Needing health insurance for my pregnant wife?
My wife is currently pregnant. We have been shopping around for health insurance, but no one we have found will insure her because she is currently pregnant. Do any of you know of a company that might insure her?
I doubt you will find any private insurance company that would take on a currently pregnant woman, and none will cover her maternity costs (most have a 12+ month waiting period before maternity is covered).

You should look into state health care. Some states will automatically cover a pregnant woman without insurance.
it depends on your income levels, but healthy start will cover pregnant women.
aww that sucks

but idk im just a youngin
Well, see if you can get her approved for Pregnant Women's medicaid. You can call your local Department of Human Resources for more info
I am sure there's got to be something out there. Try googling it works for me every time. I'm going to do a little research for you. and post up some links and names..

Can a father's health insurance cover the prenatal care of the mother who is carrying the child & the delivery
My wife and I are going to try and have a baby over the next year or so. We are covered under separate health insurance plans by our respective employers (she has an HMO, I have a PPO-HSA). There is a local hospital and OB-GYN medical group that is considered to be amongst the best in our area; although her insurance does not include the hospital and medical group in their network, mine does. Can the medical bills for the pre-natal care and delivery be covered under my insurance (considering that it as much my child as it is hers) even though she has her own health insurance that would cover the expenses from a different provider?
The pre-natal care and delivery is care of the MOTHER. Your argument that the kid is yours does not wash as the kid is not a kid until the kid is born.

If YOUR policy is an individual policy only you are covered and she will have to use her own insurance. If that is the case, you might check on "upgrading" to a family policy. However, they may not cover for this pregnancy as she was PG at the time you upgraded.

If YOUR policy is a FAMILY policy and your wife is covered under it, you can use it. It may require her policy to pay first but that is no problem. You just have her policy billed first, they decline to pay then you bill your policy.
No. She needs to be added to your plan. Also, the baby is covered with the mother for the first 30 days, so even the care for the baby would have to be under the same policy the mother carries until they area month old.

Luckily, it is probably close to open enrollment for your insurance next year.
Not usually. Pre natal is considered care for her. When the baby comes, it will be covered by yours. If she isn't pregnant yet you might consider putting her on yous asap.
NO, she has to be added to your insurance plan for it to be covered, if you plan on doing that make sure she is added before you get pregnant, some insurance companies consider pregnancy a pre-existing condition and will not cover her if she is already pregnant!
The way most insurances work is they would go on her insurance. She would need to drop her insurance and be put on yours. If she is not on yours now, they will not cover her at all. If she is on yours and has double insurance, then it might…
She would only be covered by the insurance policy she is listed on. She is the one pregnant and receiving care not the child until it is born. Once the child is born they could be put on whichever policy you prefer.
You plan will vary with anyone who tries to answer this question. You're best bet is to call your insurance company and ask. But as far as I know, if you're wife is not on the plan she is not covered. Mostly because she's the one receiving the medical care—not you.

How can I have a baby when I can't afford the infertility treatments?
My medical insurance will only pay for $500 worth of infertility treatments..My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for the last year and a half and I just cannot afford $300 a month for tests and medicine and everything else. Is there anywhere I can go to get help?
I have the same problem. Look for clinicial trials in your area. This may help if their are any in your area. I was told try IVF this costs about $6,000.00 a try. I haven't found any place that will help and no trials in my area. It is a shame most insurance companies will pay for men to be treated for ED but doesn't consider a woman's infertility a disease or medical problem. I wish you all the luck. Hope you find a way to pay for your treatments.
Have you been diagnosed with a problem yet? It is hard to say how to go about it if you don't know what the problem might be. It could be something with you, it could be him or it could be both. Mine is PCO but I mananged to have kids with a low carb diet, vitamins and excercise. Are you overweight? Are you to skinny? Does your husband have any kids? Do you have normal periods? Do you have eggwhite like discharge? How have you been TTC, have you been charting and counting days and taking notice of discharge?
Since I don't know your whole story here is my advice. We went through the same thing(infertility) not sure if my situation was the same as yours, and after three rounds of treatment my specialist suggested that I get my tubes flushed. Three months later I was pregnant with my second child, a beautiful princess. We have 4 children now, the tubal flushing was all I needed. Our insurance covered the entire thing as it was "medically necessary". Give it a try if you haven't already, say a lot of prayers and keep researching on your own. That is the one bad thing about insurance, for some reason they don't feel that everyone should have the same opportunities. Write your congressman or senator. I just hope you don't give up. Good luck and God bless you and your husband.
Your lucky your medical insurance covers that much, some don't cover any fertility issues.

Without knowing what the problem is, all I can suggest is that if you have PCOS that should be covered under your medical insurance as it is an endocrine disorder (an endocrine disorder that causes fertility problems). So, you can get treatment for it through an endocrinologist and have it covered under your insurance plan. When it comes to fertility medication (such as Clomid) you might have to buy those yourself, but you're still saving if you can get the specialist and tests covered.

Some other GYN issues that cause fertility problems such as endometriosis, ovarian cysts, fibroids, etc. can be treated under the guise of GYN treatment as well.

That's about all I can say without knowing what your fertility issue is.

Good luck.
It's still really early. Have you had all the tests for him and yourself? Sometimes it just takes a while. There is a test that checks for blockages in your fallopian tubes and for if there is any concern in the uterus. Sometimes this test in itself clears things up!!
Hi -

You could try to save, cut back on some living expenses, etc. to afford it.

You could switch jobs to a company with insurance that pays some infertility treatments costs. Here is one list :http://www.inciid.org/article.php?cat=&i

Seeking information on medical debt?
I got into a very serious car accident about 6 weeks ago, and have been unable to work. I make $8.50 an hour when I do work though, so my wages are slim. I am also a single mother of two young children. My ex husband does pay child support, but it is not much. My hospital bills have racked up, and I simply cannot afford to pay them since I'm not even back at work yet. Does any know of a form letter or can any of you attempt to write a letter to my hospital/doctors to ask them to write off the non-insurance portion of my debt? So far it is at about $5000, but that only covers my first hospital stay, as I got readmitted a week after my first stay. Before insurance totals are well over $125K so far, so they did get a hefty payment from my insurance. I'm not trying to weasel my way out of payments, I am just in extreme hardship right now and don't want this to ruin me for years if I can help it. Please save your negative comments. Thank you!
What about your auto insurance? Will they pay anymore of it? If not then check with the hospital, most of them have an indigent program that will help with the costs. they will require documentation on your income and expenses but it sounds like you would qualify. Also you may try for state medicaid, especially if you will be disabled or unable to work for a while because of the accident, talk to Social Services and see. Good Luck.
call the hospital and try to arrange a payment plan. pay them 20 bucks a week if that is all you can afford.
You need to sue your car insurance company to cover medical bills or sue the other vehicle involved. I have medical coverage on my car insurance just for that reason. If not, then try for state help.
If the accident was not your fault, you should consult an attorney. The responsible party should pay for your unreimbursed expenses. If it WAS your fault, then you should simply call each of the hospitals or doctors and explain your situation. They are usually willing to work out a payment schedule with you. Just don't wait until they've threatened to send your account to a collection agency, because those people just won't deal.
Talk to a hospital financial advisor. They'll ask for check stubs and other income verification forms. I myself had a $41k bill because of an appendix surgery. The hospital cleared every last cent owed. Be sure to meet all deadlines and provide all info you can. Good Luck to you!!
You should hire a reputable attorney and let him handle all of this. Sometimes insurance companies drag paying out for a long time, and an attorney can talk to your medical providers and get them to wait, as well as pressuring the insurance company to do the right thing. The attorney will get enough money from the insurance to insure that all your bills are paid, as well as attorney fees. You should be able to get a consultation for free. Good luck
Well, I don't know about a form letter, but just talk with their accounts department or with the creditor they've handed it off to. Many hospitals work with you on payment plans (although they do often hand them over for collections anyway). They can work with you on small payments.
You may not want to have them write it off, as that might count as income for you on your taxes. Try to see if you can reach a settlement with the creditors.

Best thing to do is to just try to pay whatever you can (at least $25-50 a month is all). That'd show good faith in case they try to take you to court. It will take a while, but having it paid off will help your credit. Having write-offs doesn't help your credit score any, actually can hurt it.

Can I get health insurance from another state?
I've searched high and low for a decent cheap high deductible health plan in New York (I'm a healthy 27 yr old sole proprieter). For whatever reason, they don't seem to exist. Can I use my mother's Kansas address to get a plan?
Sure you can, but it's only going to cover things that you get done in Kansas. And the providers, will be KANSAS providers. And it will cover you according to KANSAS insurance department regulations. Hell of a drive if you have a broken finger.

Are you looking for a major medical insurance policy with high deductible, OR, a health plan? They're two different things. The health insurance plan will cover maintenance things, and the major medical will only cover hospitalizations. With, as you noted, a high deductible. If you're 30 and healthy, the health insurance plan WILL cost $250 a month for just you, the major medical maybe $150 a month. That's just what they cost. There is some variance geographically, but not much.

Contact the guy who does your car insurance, and ask them for a MAJOR MEDICAL quote, with high deductible. Or a referral to someone who can do that.
No, this is fraudulent and the ins. co. will find out and deny your claims. They will share this information with ins. co clearinghouses and no company will insure you. Don't do it. Keep searching the web for plans. You won't find cheap because it's an individual plan, but you can't afford not to have it. With one medical emergency and no insurance, you could be facing insolvency and even bankruptcy.
You probably can, but the plan probably won't be valid as in-network in New York state, if it's even accepted at all, and then you'll be paying significantly more out of pocket for services anyway. So, that kind of defeats the whole purpose. (And that's only if it's not deemed to be fraudulent, which is a whole other ball of wax.)

Call a local insurance broker and see if they can hook you up with what you're looking for – more often than not, you can get a plan like you describe for $250 a month or so.
Have you tried Healthy New York website? I don't know if the income limits prevent you from joining, but check it out!

Family Size Monthly Household Income
1 Up to $2,107
2 Up to $2,832
3 Up to $3,557
4 Up to $4,282
5 Up to $5,007

Call 1-866-HEALTHY NY (1-866-432-5849)

Also, using your mom's Kansas address won't work because you're not going to go there to visit your primary care physician. They're not going to have NY doctors on the network.
You can get this Benefits Plan and use it anywhere in the United States. It's very affordable too.

How much does health insurance in the UK cost on average?
Btw, I live in the UK, I know we have the NHS, but my Aunty has health insurance as part of her benefits package at work and she says private healthcare is way better than the NHS.

So I'm just wondering how much health insurance costs on average in the UK?
Health Insurance will be different for everyone and it will also depend on the company you go to.

I have added a Medical Insurance Company to the source which you could contact and ask. They do everything from medical to dental insurance and locum insurance. So they could give you an idea for everything.
You can easily check your minimal health care rates in internet, for example here – health-quotes.talk4fun.net
I have no idea I live in the south east of france

Why do conservatives want middle-class children to go without health insurance?
Is it that these kids are lazy and don't deserve to go to the doctor because their parents don't work hard enough?
Because they are hateful, heartless fiends who care about nothing other than money. What kind of a person wouldn't want a poor little girl with cancer to be able to get treatment? Good question by the way!
It's a matter of priorities. For Republicans, the top priority is the profits of the health insurance companies. Profit is the ultimate good for them. And the know the insurance companies can make more money insuring -some- people than -all- people.

During Clinton's time in office, Clinton came up with a plan to vaccinate every child in America at fed. govt. expense. His people worked it out how this would be cost effective, the cost of the vaccine would be more than made up for by the cost saved by treating sick kids, days lost from school and work, etc. It seemed like a no-brainer. So what happened? The plan was killed by the manufacturers of the vaccines. The govt. would have paid them a fair price to make hundreds of millions of doses of the vaccines, they would have made a fair profit. But they realized that they could make MORE by vaccinating only the 70-80% of kids whose parents could afford their own, inflated price. So the priority, as now, was the profits of the companies rather than actual public health. (BTW these vaccines were all developed at public expense.)

Republicans don't believe people should get things from their government, except of course corporations. Health care is for those who can afford it.
Nice appeal to emotion. Whenever your argument can't stand on its own, bring in the children. Here's a simple answer: your kids are NOT my responsibility. You, and they, have no right to take from me by force because you cannot supply for them. I may CHOOSE to help you, through private charities. If I do it's because I don't want them to go without. But if you force me then your children are nothing but a weapon used to acquire goods and services that you haven't earned. That is both shameful and immoral. Personal need does not trump property rights, regardless of how young, old, or sick the intended recipient may be.
There is no reason for middle class children to not have health insurance, in fact… medicaid will insure children under 18… if the parents can't afford it. Where did you come up with this question? Do you not know enough about the system we have in place now to not know any better? Or are you just ignorant?
My child has health care and i can barely afford it. Im working my azz off just to pay the insurance.

Im not rich. Im not made of money. To be quite honest, I can care less whether another child has healthcare. When it comes to MY money, MY responsibility is for MY child. The child that I brought into this world. He comes first in my life and I would be damned is any liberal trys to convince me otherwise.
It's that middle class families should prioritize health care and not buy other stuff, expecting the government to pick up their medical bills. If you currently can afford a cell phone or cable TV, you could afford health care instead!
Have you ever heard of the Schip. Children are covered by the government. Ingorance is no vice in politics. Educate yourself you look foolish.
The doctors' offices are full of kids now but after Obama Care, who knows
Immigrants are the largest group of the uninsured.
And where's your evidence of that Mike ? Because we don't support a government take over of health care ? God bless.
Generalize much?
What in the heck are you talking about!
Do you honestly think anyone feels that way?

If you do, you need to put down the kool-aid.
